I had three jobs done on my truck - transmission swap, exhaust system replacement, front U-joints replaced. I had planned to do some of the work myself, so I had bought many of the parts and priced the rest. I also wrote up a detailed description of the work I wanted done and which parts I had already bought and were in the cab of the truck. I think they did pretty good work, but I have a new check engine light coming on that's probably related to the work they did. More importantly, I had two U-joints in the truck, and said that on the write-up, and they just 'forgot' to use them. But the U-joints I got for $13 each at the parts store changed to $40 each when the shop charged me for them. I'm glad I priced the catalytic converter myself. It was a small part of a decent job, but getting charged triple-the-price, for parts I told them were in the truck, really sours the whole thing.
